Facility Rules

Enter and Skate at your OWN RISK. This facility is designed and operated as a benefit to the community and will not accept liability relating to your entering and or participating in any activities herein. Walnut Creek On Ice reserves the right to remove anyone from the Rink. You understand and agree that by entering this facility you are solely and wholly responsible for any injuries or losses that may result and you expressly assume the risks inherent in this activity. You also agree to abide by the following rules:

1. ALL Ice Skaters should check-in at the skate desk to purchase and obtain a badge or wristband for skating. This badge must be worn and easily visible by staff at all times during skating. The badge has a date and time stamp. Any skating must be done within two hours of the time stamp or during any session in which the time stamp exists, whichever is less.

2. Skating is an inherently dangerous activity, which can result in injury or death. These risks vary based on many factors, including but not limited to your skill level, health condition, number of other persons on skating surface, activities occurring on skating surface, etc. Do not enter the skating surface unless you have safely put on skates. Do not skate unless you are healthy and are capable of and willing to accept any and all risks associated with skating. By engaging in ice skating at this rink you expressly assume the risks inherent in this recreational activity.

3. Skates should be tight and snug, not loose. You are responsible for appropriately sizing and wearing your skates whether or not assisted by a staff member. Do not carry anything while skating. Do not carry children on or off the skating surface. Do not carry cameras on the skating surface. Ask employees for assistance in taking pictures.

4. Do not enter into non-public spaces. Avoid any working areas. Do not walk on surfaces with skates where the floor surface is not matted.

5. Use lockers for valuables. Do not leave any of your possessions unattended. The facility, Walnut Creek On Ice, the WC Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Business Association are not responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen items.

6. Have a courteous and positive skating attitude. You may NOT race, create or participate in human chains, weave in and out of people, and/or skate recklessly in any way. You are responsible for your own behavior. Treat other skaters, equipment and staff with respect.

7. Do not stand, sit on, or climb over rink walls (dasher boards).

8. There is NO food or drink on the rink. There is No alcohol anywhere in the facility. There is No
Smoking anywhere in facility. Do not bring illegal contraband or paraphernalia in or around the rink area or structure.

9. The Hosts, the City of Walnut Creek, Special Ice, Walnut Creek Chamber and Visitor’s Bureau, and Walnut Creek Downtown Business Association, Management and any sponsors or supporters of the rink will not be responsible for any injuries, damages, or lost or stolen property. If you have any questions or concerns about agreeing to and abiding by any of these rules or the limited liability describe, DO NOT enter or participate in any way.

INFRACTIONS OF THE ABOVE RULES MAY RESULT IN THE LOSS OF SKATING PRIVILEGES AND/OR REMOVALE FROM THE FACILITY.

By submitting the form and purchasing Any of the Learn-to-Skate Group Skating Lessons, Private Party Reservations (Birthday, Private, Large Group, Small Group) Frequent Skater Card, Family Pass, Admission Ticket, the participant agrees to be bound by the No Refund Policy. Waiver of Liability, Release Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement. Parent or legal guardian must sign for participants aged 17 and under. Your signature is also your approval for WCOI to charge your credit card (as provided in writing or over the phone) for any and all balances owed. Group Rate is not available on family nights or holiday periods.
